Deb's Ice Cream and Deli

This past week was a great week for a walk in downtown Cedar Rapids, so after a nice afternoon lunch at Brick's (which you can read about in one of my previous posts) my friends and I decided to stroll along the streets of downtown where we found Deb's Ice Cream and Deli.

Now, I'd never been to Deb's before but after looking at their menu and tasting their delicious ice cream favorites, I recommend you check it out! They have a variety of deli options to choose from. Hot and cold sandwiches, soups and salads, and let's not forget their homebaked cookies or scrumptious ice cream options for dessert.

After a lot of comtemplating I finally decided to go with one of their 16 delicious ice cream flavors. The ice cream tasted great and the service was nice and friendly. It was just what I needed on such a nice day outside in downtown Cedar Rapids.

So, next time the weather is nice, take a walk downtown and check out Deb's Ice Cream and Deli. Leave a comment below on what you thought about your experience at Deb's.

"Buy it for Half"

If you like to go out to dinner with friends and family, or like going out for a night at the comedy club, but are a little short on cash and are looking for a way to cut down the costs, this is the thing for you!

"Buy it for Half" is a recently new website, found at KCRG.com, where you can buy $50.00 giftcards to local Cedar Rapids restaurants and businesses for only half the price ($25.00). The way the system works is you go online and select a category, select the item/giftcard you wish to buy, and then buy it!

It's such an easy and simple way to get more value for your buck! As a poor college student this is one of the best deals around. With local restaurants, such as Deanoz, Joensy's, and many more, as well as other local businesses such as the Clarion Hotel, Penguins Comedy Club, Gold's Gym, etc. This is a great deal with lots of options to choose from.

Just last week my friends and I got a $50.00 giftcard to Brick's Bar and Grill and another $50.00 giftcard to Dublin's City Pub for $25.00 each. So, check out these great deals and support our local businesses at a reasonable price you can afford.

They also have a wide variety of appetizers, all at a reasonable price. Located in downtown Cedar Rapids at 320 2nd Ave SE, its a great place to stop for an afternoon lunch with friends or a dinner date night out on the town.

So if you're looking for a new restaurant to try this weekend, head to the downtown district and try out Brick's Bar and Grill. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. I give it an A+.

NCAA Basketball Championships

Well I know most of us Iowans may be a little disappointed that UNI isn't in the Championship Game of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, especially after they knocked out top seeded Kansas a couple weeks ago.

But tonight still looks to be an exciting game as the underdog #5 seed Butler takes on #1 Duke in the Championship game tipping off at 9:21pm eastern time (8:21 central time for the people of Cedar Rapids).

Now if you're looking for a place to go out with friends and watch the game on the big screen tonight and aren't sure where to go, click here and look at all the options Cedar Rapids has to offer.

Also don't forget about the local bars such as Tic Toc, Mahoneys, Moose McDuffy's, Dublins, Mulligans, etc. Also consider restaurants such as Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, Granite City, Third Base Brew etc.

There are lots of options to enjoy the game with family and friends tonight so get out there and have some fun! I'll be cheering for the underdog Butler. Who will you be rooting for?
